Victoria Street Multi-Storey Car Park

The works involve the construction of a new £5m multi-storey car park and retail units on existing land. The building is a steel framed structure with coursed stone with various cladding panels and large glazed openings. The new construction also features restaurants and digital display screens containing adverts to drum up revenue in the area. The car park contains 333 spaces including 15 motorcycle spaces and 28 cycle spaces which is at least twice as many as the previous site. It also provides three electric vehicle charging bays.

The previous site on Victoria Street suffered bomb damage during World War II, having previously been a government building which held courtrooms and council offices and has been empty since this time.

It was built by contractors Willmott Dixon and the works were completed in December 2017 after being on site for 10 months.
