Norton Priory is the most excavated medieval monastic site in Europe and as a result boasts some of the most incredible stories and objects from this nationally significant historical asset. The Monastery to Museum project will tell these stories and display the wonderful collections more completely than ever before as well as preserving the grade 1 listed 12th century undercroft. A first floor viewing gallery above the undercroft will help visitors better understand the ruins as well as increasing the display space by more than 60%. Conditions within the galleries will also be improved allowing sensitive artefacts to be displayed for the first time.
